thanks as always for joining us. i'm jon kelley. marla tellez has the day off. happening right now, crews are starting to finally gain some ground on the wild fire burning out in yosemite. it is 15% contained. that is up monumentally. that is up 7%. so far we can tell you nearly 150,000 acres have burned. that's roughly for perspective here about the entire size of the city of chicago and crews are working very hard to protect 4500 structures including some homes out there. among the buildings already destroyed, the berkeley tuolumme camp. nbc bay area's jay gray is live with the latest from the front lines. jay, this has been rough all!/ e way around. >> yeah, it has, jon. while progress is being made, not near enough at this point. you can see the thick smoke hanging in the air here. small towns like this one really literally in the line of fire right now. this area serving as a base camp for the crews trying to hold the flames back. >> as the sun pushes through the smokey haze it reveals signs of the fire and the fight this morning in northern california. tea

thank you for joining us. i'm kris sanchez and joining meteorologist anthony slaughter, and how long will that fog stick around causing major delays? >> well, just breaking news the sfo area is starting to see some minor delays bau of the low clouds, but nothing like typical you are used to seeing. you can see the golden gate shrouded in with lots of clouds. temperatures later on today are going to warm into the mid-60s, and santa cruz and san francisco very comfortable, and places like freemont inland are very comfortable, and towards livermore and concord. it is not about leaving flight, kris, and so if you are leaving town, it looks like you are good to go, but it is on the arriving flights due to the low clouds. if you are headed downtown for the louis vuitton sailing series, it looks tlik temperatures will be in the 60s at 1:00, and that race happen ing at 1:00 and you can catch it on kozi tv, our sister network. and also around the bay, when you get into livermore and san jose, it will climb into the 80s
